Project Kitchen- Leading Digital Case Study

Background
In 2020, a local restaurant in Singapore, Mama's Kitchen- pseudonym, was struggling to keep up with the competition as more and more customers were turning to online food delivery platforms to order their meals. The owner, Mama Tan, knew she needed to modernize her business and improve her online presence to keep up with the times. She reached out to Leading Digital for help.

Solution
The Leading Digital team began by creating a new website for Mama's Kitchen, with a focus on SEO. They designed a simple interface that showcased the restaurant's menu (reduced offering), specials, and linked to food critic reviews. They also integrated online ordering, making it easier for customers to order and pay for their meals without leaving the website. In addition, they set up social media accounts for the restaurant on Facebook and Instagram, and began posting regularly to build a following.

To help Mama's Kitchen reach more customers, Leading Digital launched targeted online advertising campaigns using Google Ads. We created ad copy that highlighted the restaurant's unique selling points, such as their authentic home-style cooking and regionally sourced produce. They also used data-driven targeting to ensure the ads were seen by potential customers in the restaurant's local area.

As Mama's Kitchen was struggling to keep track of their inventory and finances, Leading Digital helped the restaurant digitise their record-keeping with cloud based software, moving away from spreadsheet tracking. We used API integration for these systems with Mama's Kitchen's existing accounting software, making it easier for Mama Tan to manage her finances.

Results
Within a few months of partnering with Leading Digital, Mama's Kitchen saw a behavioral shift towards online orders with online orders rising to almost 15% of total orders within 9 months of the launch of the website. The targeted advertising campaigns on Google helped Mama's Kitchen reach new customers, outside of their natural catchment area. In addition, the digitised inventory management and accounting systems saved Mama Tan time and money, allowing her to have a snapshot of business performance on a daily basis vs monthly previously.

Conclusion
